What event organisers need from a medal factory
When medals are tied to an event date, four things matter most. Here is how we handle each one.
- The race date cannot move
- Tell us your event date in your first message. We plan the schedule backwards from it and give you a date by which artwork must be approved, before you pay a deposit.
- Thousands of pieces must look the same
- Every medal is struck or cast from the same die or mould, colours are matched to Pantone references, and each batch is inspected against your approved sample under our ISO 9001 system.
- Medal, ribbon and box should arrive as one order
- We make the ribbons and boxes too. Ribbons are attached at the factory, each medal is bagged or boxed, and cartons are labelled by distance or category so your team can hand them out quickly.
- Everything has to be there before race day
- We ship DDP by air, DDP by sea, CIF, EXW. With DDP we book the freight and customs clearance, so the medals are delivered to your door with duties paid.
Plan your order back from race day
Your event date is fixed, so work backwards. Sample and production take 14 days at our factory, counted from the day after your deposit, which you pay once the artwork is approved. Artwork revisions, sample approval and freight come on top.

Materials and crafts that suit event medals
Most finisher medals are die-cast zinc alloy with soft enamel: it allows cut-outs and 3D relief while keeping the unit price workable at large quantities.

Questions from event organisers
How early should we order finisher medals?
As early as you can. After the artwork is approved and the deposit paid, the sample is ready in 7 days and the finished medals in 14 days in total, sample included. Add the time you need to approve the artwork and sample, and the freight time to your country. Send us your event date and we will give you a schedule with the latest date for artwork approval.
Can we have different medals for each distance or category?
Yes. Tell us the design and quantity for each distance or category and we quote each one. We can use one design with different colours, ribbons or text, and pack and label the cartons separately.
Do you make the ribbons and boxes as well?
Yes. Ribbons, hooks, poly bags and gift boxes are part of the same order, so everything is checked together and shipped together.
Can you deliver to our country with duties paid?
Yes. We ship DDP by air or sea, which includes freight and customs clearance to your address. We also ship CIF or EXW if you prefer to use your own forwarder.
