Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Foshan Gumei Aluminum Art Building Materials Co., Ltd. ("we", "us") collects when you use this website or contact us, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. We wrote it with the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in mind, because many of our customers are in Europe.

What we collect

Quote and contact requests

When you send the quote form, we receive:

• your name, email address, company or organisation and country;
• details of your order: product type, quantity, size, required delivery date and preferred delivery terms;
• your message;
• a record that you agreed to this policy.

The form is delivered to our mailbox by Web3Forms, a form-to-email service that processes the details only to send them to us. If the form service is not active, the form opens your own email app instead and the same details reach us as a normal email.

Email and WhatsApp

When you email us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your name, email address or phone number, and whatever you choose to send: messages, photos, artwork and documents. WhatsApp is operated by WhatsApp LLC / Meta and their own privacy policy applies to how they process your messages.

Orders

If you place an order, we also process the delivery address, contact person, invoice and payment details needed to produce, ship and invoice it.

Technical data

Our hosting provider may log technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working. We do not use these logs to identify you.

Why we use your data and our legal basis

• To answer your enquiry and prepare a quote: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
• To produce, ship and invoice your order: performance of our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)).
• To keep business, tax and accounting records: compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).
• To follow up on quotes and keep in touch with existing customers about similar products: our legitimate interest in running our business (Article 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Artwork and designs you send

We use your artwork only to quote, design and produce your order. We do not show your designs in our gallery, on social media or to other customers without your written permission.

Who we share data with

We share personal data only where needed for the purposes above, with:

• our email, hosting and form-handling service providers;
• freight forwarders, couriers and customs brokers who deliver your order;
• banks and payment providers that process your payment;
• authorities, where the law requires it.

International transfers

We are based in China, so data you send us is processed in China and may also pass through service providers in other countries. China does not have an EU or UK adequacy decision. Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the transfer being necessary to answer your request or perform a contract with you (GDPR Article 49(1)(b)), and on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses with our service providers where available.

Cookies and analytics

This website currently sets no tracking or advertising cookies. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.

Links to WhatsApp and other external sites take you to services that have their own cookie and privacy policies.

How long we keep your data

• Enquiries that do not lead to an order: kept while we discuss your request and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle follow-up questions, then deleted.
• Orders: invoices and related records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• Artwork files: kept so that we can repeat your order, unless you ask us to delete them.

How we protect your data

Access to customer data is limited to staff who need it to handle your enquiry or order. We use password-protected accounts and reputable service providers, but no transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Your rights

Where the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data deleted;
• restrict or object to how we use your data, including for follow-up messages;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent;
• complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.

Children

This website is for business buyers and adult collectors. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
